I am using Photos to import all my photos and videos on my iphone X. However, some photos and videos (captured by iphone) cannot be imported to Mac. The error is "The operation couldn't be completed. (com.apple.ImageCaptureCore error -9937)". Actually, this happens for a long time, years ago, though I kept updating iOS and OSX.

First see if you can download them from your iPhone to a folder on the Desktop with Image Capture.
If you can then see if you can view them with Preview. If that's successful try importing into the library.
