watch stuck on too may passcodes despite resetting on phone and hard reset.

Hello. My watch updated itself last night and Ince has displayed the too many passcode attempts message. I erased it from my iPhone settings as advised in the help forums and also tried the hard reset. The watch boots up but straight into the same message. I also tried the advice of holding the side button to display the power off slider but this does not come up and the watch just reboots again back to the message.

I am at a loss of what to do now. Any ideas?
