macbook 6.1

Hi , how can I upgrade a MacBook 6.1 OS X version 10.6.8.? When I do it via preferences etc., it says it is already updated, but I cannot access any web browser , nothing works. Thanks for answering

Your MacBook if 6,1 is what you meant is the 2009 MacBook. The latest macOS you can run is macOS High Sierra.

head over to the App Store, hopefully that is working and search for macOS High Sierra, and then click Get and then upgrade your macbook.
