How can I stop apps running in background?

My iPhone 8 plus is running continuously in the background. Every time I open my phone, I see the circle spinning at the top of the screen, like when you are searching the Internet. Does anyone know how to stop this? I have rebooted it and it goes away but keeps returning. It is eating up my gigabytes and battery.

It is more than likely an app running in the background and getting stuck on its process. The way to troubleshoot is this is to ➔ Force Close all the Apps running in the background. Once that his done then ➔ Force ReStart Your iPhone.

The next step is to turn OFF Background App Refresh by opening Settings ➔ General ➔ Background App Refresh and then turning all the Apps to OFF. Turn them ON one by one and see if the "spinning circle" returns and isolate that app.
