I have to update my MacBook Pro to Catalina.
The problem is that the download is damaged: in fact it starts at 500mb and at the end the Mac says: "installation failed. An error occurred while installing the selected updates."
can you help me please?
Maybe the solution is that I have to delete the update file, but I cannot find it.

Look in your Applications folder for "Install Mac OS Catalina" and delete it. Then restart your Mac and download again.
Try this:
Launch Terminal app from your Utilities folder and at the prompt copy & paste this line of code:
sudo softwareupdate --reset-ignored
Press Enter. Then try again.

The only other place the downloaded file might be is in your Downloads folder. Ignore the download time, those estimates are always wrong.

I tried to download and it starts at 500 mb with a fake remaining time (1 hour or 2 to download 8 gb, for my connection is unreal).
however, “install Mac OS Catalina” is still not present in application folder.
I think there’s a problem with the update file...is there a way to delete it and re-download it?
