I can’t hear sound from my iPad

I can’t hear sound from my iPad - the ringer setting is on, I slide it up and down and it rings clearly. However, when I try to use Netflix, no sound ? I can hear everything when I use Bluetooth.

my iPad isn’t cooperating for this quarantine time 😀

Try to Turn on Descriptive Audio

  1. Select Settings from your device's home screen.
  2. Select Accessibility.
  3. Select Audio Descriptions.
  4. Set the toggle switch to On.
  5. Return to the Netflix app.
  6. While playing a downloaded title, tap the Audio & Subtitles option from the player menu.
  7. Ensure your selected audio option contains Audio Description.
  8. Return to playing the TV show or movie with audio descriptions enabled.

NOTE: If you have a downloaded title that you would like to watch with audio descriptions, you will need to delete that title and download it again after you have enabled this setting.

Thanks so much for your time in answering me Patricia.

I'm actually not able to get any sound from the ipad, only through Bluetooth. So no movie/tv/game apps work with volume.

My troubleshooting skills are pretty basic, I've turned it on and off, checked the settings and the ring volume. I can only hear through Bluetooth. Otherwise, the ipad works great. I chatted with Apple for help and they mentioned I could send it in for repair , but it's not worth the cost since it's a basic model.
