Podcast controls will not stay on my iphone xr lock screen

From time to time my podcast controls will not stay on my iphone xr lock screen or they will not show up at all. I have turned the phone off and back on to get the function back on my lock screen before and now that isn't working. This has been happening since I bought the phone. I really would like someone from apple to explain why this keeps happening and what can I do to get the podcast controls back on my lock screen without having to turn my phone off and on or resetting my phone. Apple should have a better way with dealing with this issue.

Hi tinker82!

I understand that the playback controls for the Podcasts app are not staying on your lock screen when playing podcasts, and I'm happy to help. Please back up your iPhone before proceeding:

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Once you have backed up, you can reinstall the iOS software using these instructions:

If you can’t update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If the issue is still present, try restoring the iPhone to factory settings and setting it up as a new iPhone:

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

If this issue is present after restoring to factory settings, you can contact Apple Support using this link:

Cheers!

It would be much easier if Apple would just address this issue and add a fix in the next update. I have read on other message boards how other people followed these steps and it didn't fix the problem, so I'm assuming these steps will not be a permanent fix for me either. As a community specialist can you forward this issue to the appropriate Apple department so they can create a solution to be added to the next update.
