Video card/monitor ghosting

So, I am having a rather strange issue where I get ghosting on my monitor - it's the best way I can describe it! It happens to Finder windows, open programs, etc. What you see in the photo attached to this post is a bunch of shortcuts/icons from the desktop which I moved into a different folder.

When this happens, usually the 'ghost' stays on the monitor for a few minutes, and then just disappears.

Any thoughts on what may be happening? Thanks in advance!

My computer specs

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014)

4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7

32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

500GB SSD

AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4 GB

OS X: Catalina 10.15.3 (19D76)

P.S. Please ignore the slightly dirty monitor...:o

IMHO that looks and sounds more like (because they fade), an Image Persistence issue and not a failing GPU.
