One AirPod Pro earpiece is getting hot

One of my AirPod Pro earpieces is getting really hot at the end, when it's in the charging case (no matter if connected to power or not). It also doesn't work anymore and doesn't appear in the charging screen.

The plastic has in fact changed shape a bit on the back (see picture).

What do you think could be the problem and how can it be fixed?

Left AirPod stopped working One day I was just sitting with both my AirPods in. My left AirPod started to feel hot so I took it out of my ear to let it cool down.
