Camera on iMac 2019

Has it always been this way, or it's changed?

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...

Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.

Does it work in the new account?

Boot into Safe Mode (How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support) by booting with the Shift key held down and check there to see if the problem persists.  Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing some system cache cleaning, volume verifying and directory repairing. 

I have this same issue with a red cast to an image taken with the front facing camera on my iMac purchased in 2019. It was not always that way as older pictures taken with this camera appear with normal tones

Spent some time on the phone with Apple customer support over the iMac red video/image camera issue without a resolution., support said to take iMac to an authorized Apple Service Center. Unfortunately my computer was out of warranty in March. Seems like there could be a software fix for this, but I do not understand the root cause. Not happy but I guess I will live with the red images.

Can you post a pic so I can analyze it?

I have the same issue, very red image.

I tried a new user and same image.

This issue appears to have only recently appeared as images a week or so ago were OK for colour

Correction: The older pictures that appear with normal tones were taken with the front camera on a Macbook Pro not an

iMac.

My 2011 iMac's camera has a pinkish hue to "flesh" color, a cheap USB Webcam on the same iMac, same scene, same time, same angle does not.

Had the camera, cable, motherboard and screen replaced under warranty and still the issue of the red tinge.

Apple have now agreed to replace the imac
