self assigned IP but wifi says its connected

updated my MacBook Air this Saturday , and started having problems with my wifi (the icon says its connected but couldn’t surf). Tried a bunch of things like renewing the DHCP lease and others such as moving moving several files to trash (com.apple.——).

ive thought of punching in the DHCP manually but can’t get the correct IP address anyway without the Mac connecting to it...

Router is fine and I’m able to use all other devices with wifi including my iPhone.

could somebody please help me...? I’m supposed to Home-Office but can’t do anything with this....

Try rebooting your router. Wait at least five minutes after rebooting your router so it is finished resetting, then reboot your laptop.

Two quick & easy things to try is to create a new network location or create a new admin user account.
