Iphone X black spot

Hello, My Iphone X fell on the carpet from a really small distance, and there is black spot on down left corner. The home button in Instagram or any button that apperas under black spot is working normally. When I take screenshot there is no black spot. Is it LCD damage since the buttons under black spot are working completly normal?

iPhone X, iOS 13

The black spot apparently can be due to damage to the screen and you will see threads online about a black spot virus but in my case it was neither. I was a getting an issue that Apple Help was able to talk me through and fix. I recommend that you check to see if the spot does either of these things: 1. When you restart the phone is the spot is initially gone with the wallpaper / date/ time and then comes back when you swipe to the home screen from the startup wallpaper? 2. When you swipe up to get the home page does the spot go from one location to another? If you might have the same issue that I did. Go to Settings then Accessibility then touch and then if Assistive touch is on; turn it off. That was my issue. I have no idea how I got it set that way since I am certain I did not go through these steps to set it on when the spot showed up. Help was very helpful. 800 MY APPLE. Don't let the technical help assume the screen was damaged if one or two above is true.

Hey there teodora65,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like there could have been some physical damage to the display when your iPhone was dropped. I’ll be happy to help with this.

Just to be sure this isn’t something related to software, restart your iPhone and see if this has any impact on the issue:

Restart your iPhone

If that doesn’t help, try adjusting the brightness or adjusting the True Tone or Night Shift settings and see if this has any impact on this:

Adjust the brightness on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If this doesn’t help, this most likely is related to your iPhone hardware and you’ll want to reach out to Apple Support at the following link to look further into this with you:

Take care.
