MacBook Pro 16 keeps restarting in sleep

I have this hub: Powered USB Hub, BYEASY Aluminum USB ... - Amazon.com but bought it only for the price.

All I use it for is to connect a self powered external Optical drive, and charging and syncing to an iPhone. Occasionally add my wireless keyboard via charging cable to charge and use as a wired keyboard. No severe loads involved.

You might want to look for one with more ports if you need them. The input power would be more in line with running more items off of it. This link shows those offered at Amazon.com. A good selection.

!st time Apple user. Worst experience ever. Brand new Mac Pro in March 2020. I thought I had too many apps corrupting the system. Deleted all apps I installed but happened again anyway nightly.

Same kernel issue every night.

I was on the verge on asking apple for replacement. I guess this option won't make any difference since a replacement will have the same issue. anyways thank for your contribution in this matter. appreciate your help here too. regards

Macbook Pro 16" i9 64GB

Power cord plugged in (which came with the laptop) to the top left USB-C

External display attached to the top right USB-C

Mail + many other apps were open as I put it to sleep.

Restarted the computer during the night.

I have had the same experience with my MacBook Pro 16. I was very comfortably working from home with my Mac cradled in clamshell mode, connected to the same external monitor I had used for years with two prior MacBook Pro 15s. Then, around the time the last Catalina update hit, my MBP16 started to reboot itself after waking from sleep. I've tried resetting the SMC, resetting the PRAM, I've run First Aid on the disk, all to no avail. Apple's support agents tell me the next step is for me to wipe the drive and start with a fresh install of Catalina which I am reluctant to do, largely because most of what I've read from others in my boat, it won't have any effect.

The whole thing is very disappointing.

Unfortunately you will need to follow the Apple process. EVentually you will get to the point where they want to replace the logic board. The problem is in the OS and you can find many people in this thread and other forums have been through the process without much luck. I wish you well on the journey of spending alot of your time trying to make an Apple product function.

I have the same problem. Just got my new Macbook pro in two days ago switching from a PC and every time I return to my computer I get this message. Starting to regret the switch...

I have exactly the same problem with a Macbook for 16 ... I'm incredibly angry!!!!

What to do about it? I'm a professional and this is starting to make me angry !!!!

same issue here mbp 16" - to have this issue on a $4k machine with applecare is absolutely unacceptable
