Red badge on SP
I am running the latest Catalina on MacBook Air. Just updated it from Mojave. It is a little annoying to see the red badge on the System Preferences all the time after the update. How to remove it?

What you seek might be possible with a Terminal command. It's harmless and revertible, but I can't personally confirm it works unless the same thing happens on one of my Macs.
First, open Software Update > Advanced... and de-select one or more of the choices under "Automatically".
Then, in Terminal:
defaults write com.apple.systempreferences AttentionPrefBundleIDs 0
Log out or restart your Mac. The badge should be gone. It might come back on its own though.
To undo the above replace the 0 at the end with 1
Hello John
Unfortunately, that does not help either. Thanks for trying though. Clearly apple community rely on each other but, I don't find any constructive interjection from apple themselves. Perhaps it's time I went back to Linux.
Hi John,
That helped! Amazing )) Thank you soooo much
