I am not able to establish a connection with only ONE contact in FaceTime. When I call, video or only audio doesn't matter, this contact receive the call and his FaceTime ring but after he accept the call is impossible to establish a connection. The same the he make the call: my FaceTime ring bat I am not able to establish a connection - start a conversation / video call.
Any idea?

I am not able to say if the problem appears exactly after the upgrade but it seems a good clue!
My doubt is that the problem is only with ONE contact. Was it the same with the penultimate iOS?

The call is between a MacBook Pro 13" mid 2014 with Mac OS Catalina 10.15.14 and a old iPad mini 2012 with OSX 9.3.6
In both directions the call is announced, and when the other one accept it, his FaceTime try to establish a connection without success.
With the MacBook I am able to use FaceTime with anyone else, the same with the iPad. By the way: I am calling with my Macbook from Canada and the iPad is in Italy.
Was the problem happening before Catalina 10.15.4 was installed on the MBP?
The reason I was is that Apple just released a new version of iOS and iPadOS (13.4.1) to fix a problem connecting with iOS 9.3.6. Maybe the same problem code in 13.4 went into 10.15.4.

I found an article on Macrumors (https://www.macrumors.com/2020/04/01/ios-9-facetime-issue/) confirming that macOS Catalina 10.15.4 has the same bug.

the other one have not updated their laptop / iPhone / iPad to the last OS.
So it makes sense: I (with the last Catalina) am not able to establish a connection with an old 9.3.6 iPad, but everyone else with an older OS / macOS keeps use FaceTime successfully, with me and with the old iPad.
In conclusion: Apple, please fix that!.

What is model of the Apple device - and the installed iOS/iPadOS version - on each device involved in the call?
Do you know the OS versions of your other contacts (the ones that work)?
It is possible that only one of your contacts is running the version that interacts badly with yours.
