I have an external, USB Microphone (YetiX) that is not being recognized by the Operating System (Catalina 10.15.4)

I have tried most of the solutions that are often proposed, including an SMC reset, a PRAM reset, using a powered USB hub... interestingly, the System Report *does* identify the microphone as being plugged into the USB port (as a USB 2.0 device, which it is) -- but the Operating System does NOT recognize it as an audio input device.

Hi channels,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. I understand you're unable to use a USB microphone by Yeti on a MacBook pro.

Using external devices on your Mac is a great way to increase productivity and I'll be happy to help.

Excellent job with the steps that were performed. To isolate and troubleshoot this issue further, I recommend to follow the steps outlined in this helpful article: If a USB device doesn’t work with Mac

Please let me know, if that helps.

Kind regards.

The same problem exists for my Blue Raspberry Microphone. I have tried all of the steps before and it's only an issue since updating to Mac Catalina. It worked perfectly before the update and now it's not recognized (I have checked the privacy settings, reset the PRAM, everything with cables, etc), but it's most certainly an issue with the Catalina update. I was using it in Logic the day before the update, and then the day after, the Mac recognizes it as connected, but it's not picking up any sound when I test it in Preferences>Sound. None of my Mac software is recognizing it anymore, including Logic. I know it's not the mic, because it still works fine on my iPad and iPhone.
