iPhone 11 Silent Mode

Why are calendar events still making a sound when I have it in silent mode (side switch down) on iPhone 11? How do I make silent mode apply to everything?

Not receiving calendar notifications after restarting phone 15.2 iOS Anyone else have a fix for not receiving calendar notifications (both sound and banners) after restarting the phone on iOS 15.2? I also had this same issue with iOS 15 and 15.1. I found a fix that fixes the sound notifications for all calendars when phone is not being used, but it does not provide sound when using phone. Also it will keep notification banners displayed for the Google calendar but the apple calendar (the calendar that automatically comes on the phone), it only displays the banner for a second then disappears. If I don’t see it within that second then I would not know what was displayed, and if I’m not using the phone or sleeping and don’t hear the tone then I have no idea of any notification since it disappears.

Calendar on iPhone not alerting with sound, tried everything. Hi, wondering if someone can help me figure out why the calendar on my iPhone isn’t alerting me with sound. I’ve gone through all of the settings, researched it online went to the Apple forum, and watched YouTube videos. I’ve tried all of the suggestions. I do get banner notifications, just no sound accompanying them. This problem started when I updated my OS on the iPhone 7 and the issue has since carried over to my new iPhone. When I got the new phone, I started off with a clean slate and didn’t restore it from the cloud. However, when the calendar updated at some point, it lost the ability to notify with sound. My phone isn’t on silent. All notifications are on. The volume for the sound is up high and the alert sound has been chosen. The calendar events have alerts assigned to them. I’m on the latest OS 15.3. I’ve done a hard reset, but it didn’t solve the issue. Could there be another app that is interfering with the alert? My other option would be to either reset the entire phone back to the default settings or go to the Apple store for help. Has anyone else had this issue? Any other suggestions?

I believe that calendar event notifications work like alarms. Even when the iPhone is on silent, alarms will sound. I cannot be 100% certain of that, and I'm testing it as I type this. I'll update afterwards.

EDIT: I just tested two separate calendar notifications on the native Calendar app on the iPhone. I stand corrected. I set the events, set them to alert at the time of the event. I put my device on silent, and all I received was a vibration, no sound. What troubleshooting have you tried?
