Blocking new channels on Apple News

I don't want to wade through news channels, CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, Bloomberg, etc.


Their news stories keep showing up even though I block the channel. So, how do I block it? If I wish to see they're stories I do it on Safari.

I found I had to go to preferences and click on 'restrict stories in today', then click on 'follow 'for each news sources I wanted to show up back in the news section.


That's the only way I could restrict the content in 'todays news'.


Your suggestion only seemed to work for the 'following' news sources below. Not in 'Today'.


I found that answer from a 3d party website on the net.
