I needed to quickly download some photos to my ipad from a SD card. I was trying to download 93 pictures. My ipad kept telling me that I didn't have enough space, so I kept deleting photos and videos to allow enough space. I kept deleting and deleting, trying to free up enough space. In the end I had to delete over 900 photos and videos just to download the 93 I needed. I have a new iphone with lots of space, so I never thought the photos I was deleting from my ipad would also disappear from my phone!! I also had to delete the recently deleted pics to make enough space. Now I can't seem to find all of them! Are they really gone?? I never thought deleting them from my ipad would delete them from my phone! I can't even seem to find them in the cloud. Anyone have any advice?? Besides getting a new ipad with more storage, which I will do!

If you had iCloud and iCloud iPhoto Library activated on both devices then, you were syncing both of these devices together.

Anything you add/delete to one device, gets added/deleted to the other device.

If this was happening, then the images you deleted from the iPad are gone from your iPhone and vice versa.

Images that get deleted get deleted permanently.

If you deleted these images from your iPad, they are gone for good from your iPad and gone for good on your iPhone.

Did you ever make a previous backup/s of either device in the recent past?
