Apple Refurbished

Through recent scrolling on the

Apple website I came across the refurbished section and was planning to

purchase one of the refurbished iPhone's, I wanted to buy the iPhone XS Max

refurbished, but I am not sure if it would be Unlocked and Sim-Free, and so here

is my questions.

Question 1

Would the refurbished iPhone be

locked to a specific carrier in the USA?

Question 2

Will the refurbished iPhone be

unlocked to be used on Worldwide carriers?

Question 3

I am also afraid that if I buy the

phone and I put my sim in, it is going to say “SIM NOT SUPPORTED” so how can I be

sure that this is actually the real deal?

The only way you can purchase from the US online store is if you ship it to a friend or family member and they send it to you or if you order it sent to a shipping forwarder. If Apple knows the shipping forwarder you are trying to use they will cancel your order. There are several shipping forwarder scams going on right now so I would advise caution. What they do is have you send the phone to them and then never forward it. If this happens to you then you have lost your money, Apple will not replace the item.

Why?

Are you attempting to purchase from the US site, while living outside the US? If so, you are not able to do that.

I’m not certain what you are trying to say, but you can only purchase online through Apple from within your own country. If you are in the US, you would order from the US Apple site, where you could indeed order a refurbished model. If you live outside the US, you would order through the Apple site for your country, which may or may not have refurbished units.

Well what I am trying to say is that my country doesn't have an Apple store, and purchasing from the US online store is the only way I can buy one, many persons from my country have done so already, but my situation is different because I am planning on purchasing a refurbished iPhone, I have also seen people from other countries buying refurbished products from the US apple website
