Facetime

Scary experience. Tried to FaceTime a family member and a stranger answered! They hung up repeatedly. They sent me an imessage saying I had wrong number even though in previous conversation thread I could see family member and my conversation. I then had family member call me on FaceTime. She was able to do and it was same account! Please check into this huge security flaw. Very scary.

Have I been hacked? Today I received imessages that appeared to be from a friend I was on facetime too at the time. They knew nothing about the messages and denied sending them. They also took a screenshot of their phone which showed messages that they'd sent earlier but not the strange messages I was receiving. We thought it odd but couldn't explain it. Later I got a facetime call which appeared to be from the same friend, but it was a complete stranger demanding to know who I was and why I kept calling them. I apologied but said I had no idea who they were, but they were coming up as one of my contacts. I fear there was something sinister as they didn't show their face in entirity and I could hear a third party in the background whispering. I ended the call and immediately changed my apple ID and advised my friend that they were appearing as to do the same (not by imessage). Have I or my friend been hacked or is there a problem with imessage and facetime?

FACETIME BUG While I was sitting with my girlfriend today she received a call from “me” on facetime. The problem is that I did not call her, seeing as I was literally sitting right next to her. I didn’t get a chance to answer the call because she was already on a different call. I changed my AppleID password, but idk why it happened. Could it be that my Icloud was hacked?

Weird Facetime & IMessage My old lady has been having some odd occurrences with Facetime and IMessage lately. Recently when one of her friends (it only happens with this friend specifically) Facetimes her she will answer the call and for whatever reason, she immediately starts to get another Facetime call from the same friend even though she already answered the first call. This will continue to happen throughout their call and even if she ends the Facetime and Facetimes the friend back it still occurs. She has also said had instances where she will text her friend and in that text thread that she has had forever, she will get a random text saying "Who dis" and this has happened multiple times. Last night she received a Facetime from who she thought was her friend because that is what popped up on her phone screen but it turned out that it was a couple of kids. I should also mention that she had 2 numbers for this friend saved in her phone under 2 different last names (because the friend was married at one point) the friend also had 2 iPhones at one point hence the 2 numbers but she got rid of one of the phones when she moved. Any ideas??? TIA

If I'm understanding correctly, when attempting to contact a family member by FaceTime an unknown party answered. I definitely know how important security is when communicating on my iPhone, and I will be glad to assist. I would suggest copying your family members contact info, then delete the contact and try calling them. Next, re-add their contact info and test again.
