MBP How to use HDR with MAX resolution(5120x2160) on MBP16 and LG 34wk95u

Hi.

I get a new MBP 16 2019 and connect my LG 34wk95u using thunderbolt 3 cable supported LG monitor.

It is working very well with 5120x2160, but HDR option is not shown.

- LG 34wk95u input : thunderbolt.

- LG 34wk95u default DisplayPort version : 1.2

So I change LG 34wk95u DP version 1.2 to 1.4 using LG monitor setup menu.

Finally HDR option is enabled, but MBP can not set max resolution(5120x2160).

- LG 34wk95u DisplayPort version : 1.4

- Monitor is freezing when DP version changed 1.2 to 1.4, Monitor MUST be power on/off.

How to use HDR with max resolution of LG 34wk95u?

What is it problem? MBP or LG Monitor?

Please let me know.

Thanks.

All guesses:

Reboot the Mac, and reset the SMC and NVRAM?

Try using the native resolution setting? You’re in the scaled settings...

Try the HDMI path?

I’d check with LG support whether there might be other specific settings or other firmware or requirements, and then with Apple Support. But if the native resolution is 5K HDR, try the native. (I’m not fluent in Korean, which doesn’t help with reading the labeling.)
