AddBlock for Safari stopped working after the last update, please help!!!

After the last update, my Safari AdBlock stopped working. I tried to uninstall and reinstall it but can't turn it on. When I try, it gives me this message:

"AdBlock does not have permission to read or transmit content from any web pages"

I went to an Apple website that advised me to install "AdBlock Engine" form the App Store, so I did, but the same thing is happening. Anybody knows how to stop those annoying adds, please? This is driving me nuts!!!

Thank you very much.

Startup in Safe Mode:    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

    Login to your account.

Launch Safari, download Adblock from App Store and install it.

Open Safari > Preferences > Extensions

Enable it.

To exit Safe Mode, click  in the menu bar and choose “Restart”.
