General questions New Mac user

Hiya I hope your all well! This is my first time I bought an apple product ( from ex HP owner and current Samsung galaxy s8 owner). I just had a few questions if anybody can kindly share their recommendations:

1) I just visited a website and on the tab it stated: not secure. Is this something quite common? Because that website is actually quite popular and commonly used.

2) Is there a VPN service you recommend ?

3) Any adaptors or cables you recommend me getting?

Thanks so much

Any website that shows http is marked insecure, https is the secure server. Yes quite common, but not really an issue—just a push to get every one to move over to https.

VPN tend to be problematic—and not any more secure in reality.

Adapters? You don;t say what exact Mac? USBC to USB would be fundamental :

Thank you so much this was very quick and helpful! Just regarding the adapter, I am using a Mac book pro 16 inch and would just like to for example connect an external usb mic and my cannon camera. Or simply just a USB stick. So would this recommendation be sufficient?

The USBC to USB adapter would be sufficient in most circumstances— dependent on the external peripherals ports.
