Can't get into iPhone

Hey all, I cracked my iPhone X's screen today to the point where I can't use the touch screen. I can see most of the screen still, but it is unresponsive. I can't access anything on my iPhone, (unlock iPhone to use accessories notification) so I can't plug it into my computer to back it up. With the newest iOS, Apple made it a setting where USB accessories can't be used without having the iPhone unlocked first, which I nor many people didn't know about. Obviously this is useless to me now. Before I knew this, I read to buy the Lightning to USB 3 adapter and to plug in a keyboard to unlock the iPhone. I spent $40 on one at Walmart just to find out that I can't use it. I can use it on my iPad easily, but not the iPhone. I can't unlock it with Siri, with my iPad, with my laptop or my Apple Watch. I can't even call Apple off of my Watch because I can't unlock my iPhone. This is ridiculous! In a world where everything's connected, why can't my Watch even unlock it??? Apple's website doesn't have a chat thing for some reason, does anyone have a solution so I can get my iPhone backed up?

Actually, that wasn’t the newest iOS, it started with iOS 11 almost 3 years ago, and was announced and documented back then and has been in every manual since. And there is a setting on the phone to disable that feature, but now it’s too late.

But your real problem is that you don’t keep regular backups. And there’s really no reason not to, as you can turn on automatic backups and the phone will back up every night while plugged in and connect to Wi-Fi.
