A Few Thoughts on Troubleshooting this:

Turning off the computer would make it shut off, of course. But if it is not exactly working, then my thought would be to deauthorize your PC with your Apple ID (in the Account menu of iTunes).

But if deauthorizing in and the authorizing it is troublesome, then I recommend asking this in the the forums of the manufacturer: Bose. There, they’ll know what is going on. How to do fix it:

1. Go here: Sound Bar - Help - Bose
2. Enter: your Serial Number (bottom of page)
3. View: the Options that pop up
4. Select: Service or Community (most likely)

Perhaps this is a Faulty Device?:

Try setting this up once more, but this time while both the PC and the Mac are powered on. Also, check for updates. If a faulty device, request a new one from Bose. If you have no receipt tell them it was a gift and that that is why you have no receipt. It’s worth a go.
