Use generic USB keyboard to control the usual fn key shortcuts [volume etc]

Using a keyboard that doesn't have an fn key. Even with Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys unchecked, it's still seen as function keys either way...


It's not a biggie but it would be nice to use if for the usual shortcuts for brightness and volume etc.

Karabiner-Elements may allow you to map media key functions to a generic keyboard. It's free so if it doesn't work you haven't lost anything.
