MacBook Pro restart led to software update???

My MacBook Pro restart led to a software update. I have OS Updates selected to automatically download but not install, and somehow a restart while I was working intended to make things run as fast led to an auto update? I've heard jokes PC users about Windows doing this and yet here I am; this has never happened before.

Am I doing everything I can or am I missing something here? From my update history, it looks like what updated was "macOS Catalina 10.15.4 Supplemental Update". Could the last check box have been the issue?

Being in the zone while working and then having an auto update take over is one of the most infuriating sidetracks ever.
