KAV file

In the activity monitor the KAV file in the root directory seems to be active. I did use Kapersky anti virus till 6 months ago but have uninstalled it. Should I get rid of the KAV file and how would I do that ? Please make any instructions as simple as possible as I know a little but am not a trained support person. Thank you!

I will try, Jmacc50.

You don't really need Kapersky anti virus.

Yes, you should get rid of the KAV file. You can either search for it from the finder, just type in KAV or Kaspersky, and some of it should come up, when you have found the files, move 'em to the Trash and empty it. You can also try looking in your User Library. Go to users, then yourname (should look like a house), then move the mouse to the top of the screen, and choose "go to folder", type in Library and it should appear. Look in either Application Support or Preferences. Anything that has Kaspersky in it goes to the Trash, which gets emptied

hope this gets you started
