Numbers insert line break

Hello,


I have Numbers for Mac and would like to collaborate with others on a project. But I don't want to have to keep asking them to click option return to get a line break in the cells.


Is there an option I can do to stop it leaping into the next cell?


(Please give a step by step account if there is)

For spreadsheets (as long as I can recall, back to the 1990s), returns has gone down one cell to the next row and tab goes to the next column.


so entering a new line using a modified return (<option> + <return>) makes sense in this context.


Short answer is there is no other way.


Of course, you can enter the text in a textbook, then copy and paste to a cell


You can also select the column where you enter the text and check the "Wrap text in cell" check box in the Text formatter :
