I've been having this issue for several months now. When I open Finder there are no files showing up in my Recents Folder, they sometimes flash on the screen in the folder but disappear if you try to click them. I haven't found anyone else with this problem online so have no clue how to fix it.

For one off anomalies like yours —I would not hesitate to reinstall the Combo update macOS 10.15.4 https://support.apple.com/kb/DL2037?locale=en_US on top of your existing macoS 10.15.4
