Recents folder now only shared docs?

Recents folder now only shared docs?

Since the 13.3.1 update, the Recents folder is ONLY showing recently shared files. Is there a way to fix this, or is this a new "feature" that renders it completely useless?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.2

I found a Reddit thread discussing the same issue and found the solution (at least in their cases and mine) was either upgrading NTFS for Mac to the newest version, or if it already is the newest version, uninstalling it and re-downloading/re-installing it. That cleared it up for me.

I wonder if it's related to the issue I'm having this morning with getting any external hard drives to mount. When I open one of my video editing apps, there are no recent projects showing because it can't reach the drive where everything is stored. I've tried two different drives, and neither will mount. This occurred immediately after running the recent 13.3.1 update.

It's possible, but not necessarily. Mine mount without a problem, but they don't seem to be indexed anymore (sigh). However, I do save a large number of files on the internal drive, so even if the externals weren't mounted or indexed, something should show up in the Recents.

Check your settings for Recent Docs, Apps, & Servers in System Settings, Desktop & Dock, Number of Recent Items:

Thank you, but that only gives me the number of items it will show. Right now, I have the number set to 50, but it is only showing me three, and they are all shared docs.
