AirPods can't be charged

I can't charge the AirPods , i insert one piece and the charger show a green light but as soon as i inserts the other piece and it shows an orange light, I've left the AirPods inserted in the charger all night but they are not charged next day. what can not be working the AirPods or the charger, they were bought on Christmas 2019
