My back ups on external HDD was gone when the external HDD was corrupted and could not be recovered.

I bought another external HDD for this purpose but I couldn't locate any of my devices being listed in the iTunes Preferences? How do i recover this or rebuild this once again? can you show me the step by step instruction to rebuild this ...

Possibly Retrieving Backups:

Look for these backup in other storage locations. If they are not in iCloud, then see if you have them stored on another Mac, or on an external hard drive, flash drive, or cloud storage - particularly something other than what you are already aware of. Elsewise - they're probably lost for good, if not recoverable.

Rebuilding this:

  1. Reinstall: your macOS.
  2. Sign into: iCloud
  3. Reinstall: Hardware
  4. Reinstall: Drivers
  5. Reinstall: Software
  6. Download: Security Updates
  7. Backup: your Mac

Request Replacement Keys:

So, as for the software, contact the developer, information them that your hard drive went dead, and that you lost the license as a result. It would be their call --- but, perhaps, they will provide you will a new key. Find the "Contact Us" info on the home page of the developer - most-likey on the far-bottom. Click on the background, and then Press: [command + down arrow] to scroll all the way to the bottom of a page.

Data Recovery at a Retailer:

For Thought --- It could cost one thousands just to get the data off of it. So, wherever you purchased this hard drive from (i.e. a retailer), you might want to see if they offer a Protection Plan of sorts for Data Recovery. Typically, you'd see a pamphlet at a retailer's cash register regarding this.
