iMovie crashing every time.

Hi, iMovie keeps crashing after a while on my Mac. I've tried to create a new library, reset iMovie, erase it and download it again. Nothing seems to work, I would like some help please.

Grateful,

Adding to MoonJ's post, it could be that you are running out of free space on your Mac, and that is causing the crashing. Also you could try updating your iMovie app to current version 10.1.14.

Hello Guiprosa,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

I understand that iMovie keeps crashing and you've tried some troubleshooting steps already but they haven't seem to have worked. I am happy to help you out.

Let's try an SMC reset.

How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac

You may also want to try an NVRAM reset.

If you're still experiencing the issue after performing the above tasks, then let's try Safe Mode.

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

Let me know if that worked for you.

Have a great day!

I think that maybe this is the most important part of the error message, I've just deleted all iMovie related files, even previous library, and downloaded iMovie again. Same problem... Here's the part of the message:

Termination Reason: LIBSYSTEM, [0x2]

Application Specific Information:

assertion failure: "((void *)0) == tsd->NSCurrentOpenGLContext" -> %lld
