#images won't search on iphone 11

Recently I've noticed that occasionally when I search for a GIF under the #images it shows "no results found" for anything I search, even ones I have done in the past. I can still receive them and I can send recently used GIFs that come up. It's just the search function isn't working. I've removed the #images option and added it back, restarted messages, restarted my phone (both regular and hard restart), tried airplane mode and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having trouble with GIFs loading in #images. I'd be happy to share information that may help.

Check for and complete any available iOS updates for your iPhone: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. (Be sure to have a current backup prior to updating.)

If you're using Wi-Fi, try loading #images over cellular data. If you're using cellular data, then try Wi-Fi.

Also, check to see that Low Data Mode is turned off under Settings > Cellular: Use Low Data Mode on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
