WindowServer process consumes a lot of CPU power

Since I got Catalina installed, the WindowServer process seems to be consuming a lot o CPU power. It consumes more than other apps like After Effects.

How is it possible?

That does not look like a lot. Nothing to worry about, really.

Remember, this is a system process that is managing your user interface. Its usage will vary significantly, depending on the applications that are open, their windows, etc. It may go up to, say, 45% and quickly back to around what you show.

And of course, what AE uses will depend a lot on what it is doing at any point in time. I am sure was mostly idle at the time, it can easily go up to 400% or more, depending on load and the numvber of cores available.
