I did some additional tests.

Before rebooting IPAD, IOS tries 2 times to reach thermalmonitord service, every 60 seconds.

It then creates 2 Stack+thermalmonitord logs and then it crashes creating the panic-full log the third time

In my case sensor TG0B is not reachable. This morning I noticed that the charging connector was really dirty so i cleaned it up with a toothpick. After that I tested ipad for hours and i didn't have a single issue for a first time since weeks

Sadly, this evening it started againg to reboot randomly (same problem).

My opinion is that there is something on flex cable that is wrong. Cleaning or replacing it will probably solve the problem. The spare part itself is really cheap but it's not easy to replace with a new one (soldering skills are needed), and apple will not do this for you.

Probably with new IOS versions they changed the way how thermalmonitord watchdog handles the system. Is possible that we had the stack+thermlamonitord logs even before, but they did not cause the reboot.

I finally resolved this after a lengthy chat with Apple last night.

Doing a factory reset and restoring from my Mac/iTunes (not wirelessly) has given me back a stable iPad.

Instructions here for those that need them: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201252

Its still running 13.4.1 but without the interminable reboots every few minutes.

FWIW I didn’t back up the contents of my iPad to my Mac, just relied on downloading from my last iCloud back up after I’d finished installing the OS.

This may be part of the issue. I hadn’t backed up since Jan as I’d maxed out my iCloud storage but refused to go up a storage tier.

it was the only thing that came up in the diagnostic anyway.

I took the time to discuss this problem with Apple. I have the necessary IT/Electronics background to evaluate this problem myself. The problem that ist causing the crashes is a background service called thermalmonitord. It's a background task, that does not answer within the time limits anymore after the iOS 13.4.1 Update. It causes watchdog time-outs, which causes the iPad to reboot. Check the logs on you iPad under 'Analyses' in the Privacy-Settings.

I have done everything possible from a soft reset to a complete new setup. Nothing helps. Apple took remote access to the iPad and said the HW looks pretty ok. They proposed, that I send it in for repair. Funny, since the HW was ok according to their check. My iPad Pro 10.5 is 2.5 years old, and the default repair costs here in Switzerland are 490 Euro or 529$ for them to even look at it. Pretty lousy offer from Apple. That is almost the price of a new one. One would expect a Pro product to last longer.

By the way: iPad 6 also has problems with iOS 13.4.1: Network and Apple USB Adapter were not working. Network Reset did however solve the Problem. Have a lot of Apple products. The iPad Pro 10.5 is however the only one that has consistent problems with iOS 13.4. Advise to wait for update and to pray...

update - so last week my ipad went into Apple - they came back to say there was damage to the case and wanted 500 quid for the repair - i had them send it me back - - i naturally thought - the screen sensor had been knocked - anyhow i have sent the unti back to a ipad non official repair shop - they have called me today to say they are seeing a fair few like this - they replaced the battery and they advise the unit has not crashed since last night and they will let me know tommorrow once the unit has been on charge 100% and waste it doiwn to zero that this is the case - so guys looks like a cheaper Fix than 1st thought

As the one person here who seems to have had *some* success in addressing this issue I thought I’d share one thing that’s been working for me.

while I still get the reboots, I’ve found that I can reduce the frequency of them significantly by reducing my screen brightness below 50%. I’ve also been keeping the device indoors as we have hot weather here at the moment on the hunch that ‘thermalmonitord’ may relate to the device temperature.

this could all be in my head, but I no longer get crashes every 180 secs.

would be interested to know if this works for anyone else (especially Antonella’s who reinstalled 13.4.1 via iTunes as I did).

Fingers crossed for you all...

Just to add something:

Anyone still having this issue, maybe you can try this to see if we all have the same exact symptoms?

-When rebooted (even after Fresh Restore), I run the clock Timer and it will almost always reboot BEFORE it reaches 3 minutes (2 min+, like 2:40-2:50+ . It passed the 3 min mark only a couple of times before rebooting.

-set the screen timer off to 15 min , and just let it sit idle...again reboots before 3 minutes.

-So even doing absolutely NOTHING, or just a simple Timer, it will reboot.

-in one of my many "experiments", I downloaded 3DMark Benchmark (SlingShot) on the iPad and ran it. It runs 3D modeling benchmarks for 4 mins. IPad didnt reboot. When Test was done, I ran it again. I kept doing this several times for a total running time of over 30 mins and not once did the iPad reboot.. So apparently when its doing "heavy lifting" of 3D graphics processing, it wont crash...but sitting idly by it will. (One would think the opposite would happen)

3D Graphics rendering makes the iPad hotter...so my observation is that when its running hot, its stable? And the error code for the crashes is called "THERMALMONITOd"? Somehow I think its related?

Would be helpful if some of you guys can try this out to see if you get similar results...

P.S. Because of the "Reboots every 3 min" issue, I couldnt download Large files from the App Store, let alone the OTA update, because the downloads needs longer than 3 minutes. (my Internet isnt that fast) I was able to get around it by running the 3DMark app over and over again while things download in the background. Might help some of you folks if you have problems with your downloads like me. Please Try it and share... thanks

"panicString" : "panic(cpu 0 caller 0xfffffff018256670): userspace watchdog timeout: no successful checkins from com.apple.thermalmonitord in 180 seconds\nservice returned not alive with context : is_alive_func returned unhealthy : I have just started a repair with Apple - was advised to send in for battery and it should get resolved - i will keep you updated with what happen - maybe be looking at a week or so
