iPad crashing down after every 3-5 mins

Apple doesn't monitor any of these direct user to user support communities.

So what makes you think Apple will take notice or care about any social media efforts made by some random group of Apple iOS product users on this issue?

Apple STILl has not even been able to solve or admit to an intermittent, unresponsive touch screen issue with a still growing group of various affected iPad Pro models from the past 5 years, as well as the newest 2019 iPad Air 3 models, after well over 18 months, now!

One of your colleagues moderating the similar “iPad Pro 10.5" continually reboots after 13.4.1 update” thread (LotusPilot) has requested Model No., Model Version, SW Version, and SW Build info to help understand commonality between those iPads affected. You may wish to do the same on those threads that you’ monitor if you think that it would help developers solve the problem. I’m also curious as to whether carrier configuration has any bearing on the problem. Mine is Sprint configured.

I too have been affected by the “thermalmonitord” affliction. Perhaps the new display features introduced in 13.4.1 has triggered this issue?

Apple and third party app developers do not participate in these communities, at all.

I am just a volunteer user here, like everyone else.

Everyone that volunteers here, volunteers their help in their own way.

If LotusPilot wants to be a electronics technician and detective and asking everyone for all this info to try and figure out this issue, then good for LotusPilot.

I have no interest in drilling down into all the iPad/iPadOS system minutae needed, from other users affected by the myriad of current iPad issues going on with iPadOS, to try and figure out the possibilities of what maybe causing all of these various long-standing iPad issues.

Besides, any time I have speculated about possible reasons for the myriad of long standing iPad issues, the ASC moderators here have removed or edited my posts and have slapped me with an extra warning notice to my email about posting speculative content.

So, I am not interested in collecting extra data to try a pin down possible causes/advice/solutions to iPad/iPadOS issues and post my own opinions/speculations on this info only to have such opinion/speculative posts removed or edited my the ASC content moderators.

If LotusPilot wants to pursue this, then that is LotusPilot's decision to do.

thank everyone for the info and those who are actively seeking a solution. It’s good to know I’m not the only one experiencing the shutdown/restarts. I’m hopeful APPLE will make things right with those of us with the affected models.

Same problem here on ipad pro 10.5.

In my case the reboot happens mostly only when i use ipad for video content (netflix). The funny thing is that sometimes it works fine for more than and hour, sometimes it fails after few minutes.

i'm on the last ios 14.

mine has stated again on 14.0 14.2 unable to upgrade to 14.3 as it just reboots to quick - - funny thing is - it doesn't reboot in DFU mode - so surely it has to be the IOS causing it ?? this is a 1st gen iPad pro 12.9 ... like to know if anyone else has had success??

Another upset iPad user here. Exact same problem. Have been on the phone with Apple numerous times and they say it has to be a hardware problem. I'm very skeptical as this 'hardware problem' started straight after I updated to a newer iOS. Please please if anyone has a solution please share :(

Thanks for the quick response. 14.3 has not made a difference for me - still crashing every 3-5 minutes. Wish Apple would sign off the IPSW for the older iOS that worked for our iPads.

There are tons of sensor on IPAD. Do you remember wich sensor in your case was defected? The problem here is to make a correct diagnosis. Screen? Battery?

apple does not want to do anything, just replacing tablet fot 500 euro...

Was your iPad overheating after few hours of use prior to this update though it used to work fine as even I thought it could be a battery issue ? Currently the iPad is not charging past 2-3%.

I have the exact same problem. All my other Apple devices seem to work ok with 13.4.1, but my iPad Pro 10.5 (2018) crashes in 3-5 Minute Intervals. Have tried everything.

After I read your reply, I tried this step by step. The issue persists. There is something wrong in the firmware itself.
