Hey so I was able to print and scan with the PIXMA MP230 drivers. The only thing I can't do is pick wether I want to print in color or in black in white. It's been printing in color and I was wondering if you can help me with this?
Here's another possibility that I nearly forgot: http://www.netputing.com/applications/handyprint-v5/
What that does is allow you to use your Mac as an AirPrint print server. It's software you install on your Mac, and it's inexpensive.
Caveat: I haven't used that program recently, but I used an early version of it a long time ago. It worked fine. Try it.
Yes, but you will require an AirPrint print server.
If you can print with it at all, I'd consider that a success. Can't really help with that printer because I don't have one. Try the HandyPrint product—I think it's free to try.
Thank you for your fast reply! How do you download AirPrint on a Mac?
Also I am using it via USB
AirPrint is already incorporated in macOS. The problem is the Canon Pixma MP240 doesn't have it. The last Mac operating system that printer supported was discontinued over a decade ago.
A print server will cost more than a new printer, so buy a new printer. When you do, be sure it specifically indicates that it is AirPrint compatible. There are literally thousands of AirPrint printers and multifunction devices from which to choose.
