Apple Music won't save songs or albums

When attempting to add a song or album to my library I hit the + sign. A circle animation displays then the + sign appears again. This is happening on both my iPhone and MacBook Pro. I've restarted Apple Music and both devices and it continues to happen.

Greetings, Nick.

I see that, when you try to add a song or album to your Apple Music library, the plus sign just reappears without having added it. Good job on the troubleshooting you've tried, and I'm glad to help with this.

Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music -- On your iPhone, go to Settings > Music and make sure both "Show Apple Music" and "Sync Library" are both on. In the Music app on your Mac, turn on "Sync Library".

Let me know how that goes.

Take care.

Hi Chris,

Adding songs is working on my iPhone now, without any intervention really, so I'm not sure what was changed to fix it.

My MacBook Pro continues to be an issue. I just unchecked sync my library, restarted the music app, then checked sycn again. I think it's still working through syncing my library, but if that doesn't work I will reach out to Apple Support.

Thanks,

Nick

Thanks for checking those settings and getting back to us, Nick. It's appreciated. Since this is happening on two separate devices on two different operating systems, I'd like to make sure that your devices are up to date.

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- iOS is currently on iOS 13.4.1.

How to update the software on your Mac -- macOS 10.15.4 is the latest for your Mac.

If either require an update, please be sure to have a fresh backup to keep your personal information safe.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Back up your Mac with Time Machine

Apple - Support - Product Selection — If you still can't add song to your Apple Music library to either device, please contact Apple Support. After selecting this link, choose Music, Apps & Services > Apple Music > Saving & Playing songs. The select how you'd like to start the conversation.

Cheers!
