login to Ipad pro

why is it that I can login to apple with my current apple id on my desktop computer but not on my new Ipad pro. very annoying and I have had it for 3 weeks

As the signature appended to your question implies that you are running iOS 12, if you have not already done so, you should update your iPad Pro to the latest version of iPadOS - this being iPadOS 13.4.1.

Sadly I cannot get the ipad to connet to the internet without signing on....
