Keychain Access Issues

Hello...

Not really sure where to start with this, but here we go:

1) MacBook pro (late 2011, 13") running High Sierra 10.13.3 I believe, kept asking for access to my keychain. Was getting prompts from 'accountsd', 'Spotlight', and others

2) Was trying to reset keychain permissions to default, as I heard that could have been an issue (corrupted permission perhaps?)

3) Wasn't allowed to do this, got message "Unable to obtain authorization for this operation"

4) Deleted some of the keychain entries that I thought were causing issues

5) May have accidentally deleted 'login' keychain tab... or it just disappeared, not sure

6) Rebooted computer in recover mode, repaired all disks

7) Tried reinstalling OS from Recovery mode, but only Lion was showing up...

8) Reinstalled High Sierra from app store

9) Computer started speeding up, less prompts for access to keychain (Google Chrome still asking for it)

10) Tried to reset Keychain to default again, still getting same message as #3 above.

PLEASE HELP! I am stuck and Apple support isn't able to offer any solid advice. Thank you! <3

If you’re asked frequently to unlock your keychain

Your keychain may be locked automatically if your computer has been inactive for a period of time or your user password and keychain password are out of sync.

Sync your keychain password and user password

If you are frequently asked to unlock your keychain, your user password (the one you use to log in to your Mac) may be out of sync with the keychain password. When you first set up your account on your Mac, your user password and keychain password are the same. Whenever you log in to your computer, Keychain Access automatically unlocks the login keychain.

Under some circumstances—if, for example, the user password is changed—it can get out of sync with the keychain password.

  1. Click “login” in the Keychains list.
  2. Choose Edit > Change Password for Keychain “login.”
  3. If the keychain is locked, enter the previous user password, then click OK.
  4. If you entered the correct password, a new window appears.
  5. Enter the previous user password again in the Current Password field.
  6. Enter the current user password in the New Password field.
  7. Reenter the current user password in the Verify field, then click OK.

Set how often keychain requires you to enter a password

You can set a length of time that Keychain Access waits before automatically requiring you to enter your password again.

  1. Click “login” in the Keychains list.
  2. Choose Edit > Change Settings for Keychain “login.”
  3. Select the “Lock after” checkbox and enter a number of minutes of inactivity.
  4. If you want to require a password each time the computer goes to sleep, select the “Lock when sleeping” checkbox.
  5. Click Save.

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck.
