How do I securely wipe my hard drive using cryptographic erasure

Hi,


I am looking to sell my laptop and I've seen some articles about securely wiping it such as https://www.macobserver.com/tips/how-to/securely-erase-macs-ssd/.


Based on the current OS, how true is the article above? If filevault is on, and you do a simple erase using Disk Utility, is that enough?

If Filevault is enabled and you erase the drive the Filevault encryption key is destroyed. This is what Apple relies on in this Apple article for prepping your computer for sale or disposal:
