Black screensaver when using homesharing photos - ATV 4k

13.5 is out now and it fixed it!

I just downloaded the latest tvOS13 Beta and my pictures are back so they do have it fixed.

Same around here.

Tried restart, reset, switching on and off the Home Sharing from the PC and deleting the Apple TV Photo Cache on the PC

None worked.

There are other threads around the internet with users complaining.

Like this one.

The home sharing works, I see the music AND photos, can play slideshow from a folder, no issues. Can press the "set as screensaver" button on some album.

But if I set as a screensaver the "Home sharing" photos OR music OR "Music Library" just loads blank black squares. If I set up the transition to "Flip Up" I actually see the black squares. Aerial and Apple Photos work fine

Settings/System/Software Updates/Get Beta Updates switch from off to on. Takes a few minutes.

Thanks again Wade. With the Beta download, photo screensaver is back to normal.

Went from Photos People set of 861 to larger 9, 641 and it still works.

Okay, glad I am not the only one who is having this problem. I was wondering if it had something to do with Aerial taking up too much space with new videos being downloaded automatically. Tried to find a way to delete the Aerial screensaver photos but have found no such thing yet. I don't know if this is even the issue, but those high def movies have to be taking up a lot of space, and I don't particularly want them anyway. So maybe we just have to wait until the next update?

This is a new bug that started yesterday for me. On two different ATVs. Tried restarting modem. Nothing I did worked. Did not have the ATV on automatic updates so nothing should have changed. Very frustrating as we use this feature daily and highly enjoy it

I am having the same issue. The crazy part is when I hooked up my 4K TV, it was working for several days and then in the middle of the week it stopped working. I believe this was last week. I have tried a lot of settings nothing seems to work. I agree with the other posters this is a popular feature that I always used when I was listening to music.

After using home sharing photos for years as my screensaver, I starting seeing this problem in mid April 2020. I can see my photos when I select photos for screensaver. All I’m seeing is a black screen during “Preview” or when screensaver should be displaying.

I noticed that on the page at https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/apple-seeds-fourth-beta-of-tvos-13-4-5-update-to-developers-update-public-beta-available.2234508/ it has an update saying "[Public Beta Available]." I am not a developer and am wondering if this means it should be available to the general public, and if so how to download it. I am still on 13.4 (17L256).

When I go to Settings/System/Software Updates/ it only gives me the options: "Update Software" (which, when I click it, only says that my software is up to date with 13.4 17L256) or "Automatically Update" which is just a toggle for that feature to be on or off (I have it on). Is the "Get Beta Updates" only there for developers?

Hello......The photoscreensaver is back. Im getting a new bug where the photo screensaver is also showing photos from a Shared Albums. Photos that do not exist in my library are getting intermingled in the slide show with shared album photos. Is this unique to me?

I have the same issue - even went as far as restoring my ATV via my Mac and doing a full install. Sadly - it's still the same

Good! I only have tvOS13.4 right now. Will it be available with 13.5?
