VPN crashes trying to disconnect

Hi

i am working from home for now connecting my MBP via a standard macOS VPN to my office active directory based network.

The VPN seems to lose connection regularly and I need to disconnect and reconnect it to get access to network resources. But sometimes it seems to crash when disconnecting, showing a permanent “Disconnecting ... “ ticker tape message next to the VPN icon in the top status bar.

If I wait nothing seems to happen for a long time. Checking System Preferences | Network shows it empty with a “No services in this location. Click Add (+) to set up a service” and a continually whirring cursor.

the only way I have found to counter this is to restart the MBP.

has anyone any other solutions or suggestions?

There appears to be a lot of system modifications. You have a lot of apps launching. Try removing apps from auto launching on startup. You have several apps running that I doubt need tpo be running concurrently. (WebEx, Skype, Teams, TeamViewer) for example.

I'd remove all the apps from auto launch then reboot. I'd also try booting in safe mode as a troubleshooting step.

It is difficult troubleshooting remotely especially when you have not provided any system, environment, or error message details. What model/year computer? What operating system version? What error messages if any? What third party apps are you running? Any third party anti virus apps running?

Post an etrecheck report so that we can better see your system and installed apps.

What do you consider a "standard macOS VPN " ?
