Ghost keyboard and repeated keyboard pressing

iMac sounding as if the button is being repeatedly pressed or Button I repeatedly pressed when not actually pressed or sounds when a pop up is open. Flickering tabs when hovering over tab selections.

This is a 2009 iMac 21.5" Screen.

At other times things just go crazy and it is like the 6 button is being held down and mac continuously beeps until I press the space button. Also noticed "question mark" is not working. My "almost new" iMac is making a clicking sound from time to time Does this indicate a problem? It seems random, and it even happens when I'm away from the computer and the screen saver is running. I wonder if I should return the computer--I've never heard this with any of my apple computers over the years! Any insights are appreciated! Thank you.

Weird - Screen Dimming While in Use and Ribbon Showing Recording? Weird -Ventura 13.2 mac pro, today screen started dimming several x while using to black, brought brighness up. Then ribbon showed something odd - red dot like recording, (wasn't) & apparent time notation and ‘167.47 gb’ and stop button, took snap. What the heck happened? Was NOT recording anything. Restarted immediately in case of malware and backing up - but mystified. Excuse messy keyboard!

Try resetting the NVRAM and then retest. Instructions are in NVRAM Reset
