Brand new 2019 MacBook Pro 16" Hard Crash/Reset

Longtime Mac owner, just switched my work laptop to Mac and have been crashing every other day.

Happens in two flavors:

  • Walk away from my system for the night, allowing it to self-sleep. Wake the system in the morning and find the computer had crashed while I was away. Re-log in, reload my tabs, check MS Office for autosaved docs.
  • Browsing the 'net with Chrome and Safari, MSFT Outlook for email in the background. Screen freezes, touchpad becomes un-clickable, and the system simply restarts.

PRAM reset hasn't appeared to help, and I'm not finding anything of note in the Console. Seems identical to this thread:

A little more about my setup:

  • Catalina (preinstalled, no restore performed other than iCloud Desktop Sync)
  • 2.4GHz 8 Core i9, 32GB RAM AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4GB, Intel UHD Graphics 630
  • Startech thunderbolt 3 dock hooked up to an LG 27" monitor, magic mouse
  • MSFT Office suite (sorry, work standard)
  • Little Snitch firewall, CarbonBlack (don't think the problem is here b/c it was crashing beforehand)

Any thoughtful commentary on the above would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Todd
