Airdrop not working on IPhone Xr

Despite resetting my iPhone I cannot airdrop to a known contact. I have checked that Bluetooth is on, hotspot off contacts are both on each other’s phone but no go. Interesting that an older model iPhone can airdrop I cannot. Something wrong with apple’s version 13.4.1? Please can Apple send a fix?

Before you begin

  • Make sure that the person you're sending to is nearby and within Bluetooth and Wi-Fi range.
  • Check that you and the person you're sending to have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on. If either of you have Personal Hotspot on, turn it off.
  • Check if the person you're sending to has their AirDrop set to receive from Contacts Only. If they do, and you’re in their Contacts, they need to have your email address or mobile number in your contact card for AirDrop to work.
  • If you're not in their Contacts, have them set their AirDrop receiving setting to Everyone in order to receive the file.

You can put your AirDrop receiving setting to Contacts Only or Receiving Off at any time to control who can see your device and send you content in AirDrop.

I have iPhone 4S iOS 9.3.6, iPhone6 12.4.6, iPhone SE iOS 13.4.1, iPhone 8 iOS 13.4.1 and an iPad Pro iPadOS 13.4.1. Prior to that I had iPhone 3GS which is not working any more.

I have been updating all these devices whenever a new iOS is released. I have never encountered any issue whatsoever after any update because I have never downloaded anything over internet directly. Always used apps from App Store only.

I have no issue on AirDrop.
