Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I purchased a MBA in like late February and in the last few weeks it has shut down randomly a few times. What's that about? Since everything is virtual and I am a teacher I can't afford to have an unreliable setup. One of the shutdowns was during a Zoom class. :(

Hi Brenden. I've had this issue since I bought my new Air 2020 a couple of months ago. Maybe once every 10 days. Just freezes for 10 seconds, wooosh, and then black. Does not restart itself, but restarts if you hit the "touch id" button as normal. No report whatsoever upon restart. It's like the machine doesn't even know that it crashed. Surely there must be somewhere you can point us to get diagnostics for Apple? The "woosh" is entirely unique to this situation so somebody at Apple knows what triggers the woosh, right? Safe mode, however, is not a good diagnostic tool for something that happens rarely. We can't all live our lives in safe mode, and even if we do, what next? What does it crashing or not crashing in safe mode tell us to do next? Thanks. This is an incredibly terrible situation for those of us doing mission critical projects with our brand new machines. Hi there, I wondered if you eventually got a solution for this? I have exact same problem, once every 10 days or so it will restart, without any report of a crash after restart.
Operate in safe mode? That’s not a solution! I just purchased my MBA 2020 M1 and it shuts down constantly. No error message. I’m furious!
That happened to me too a few times, even twice in a day. Brand new Macbook air 2020 with M1 chip..
Mine shuts down constantly. It’s a total piece of garbage. What’s worse is support personnel pretend this is a mystery. Absurd!
Same thing happened to me, one month after purchase, it's turn off minimum twice a day,

Sounds defective to me. Since you have it under warranty, then you should get it fixed. It will be free!

Yes i have a macbook air thats a intel core i3 and a M1 chip and it keeps logging me off when im in zoom > : c
even the 2nd worst part of my macbook is the fan it doesnt start when im on zoom
Did it log you out on Both, or just one of them? Which one?
